One True Pairing - Bromance Style

Like some of the other girls, when I got this month's topic (One True Pairing), I had NO IDEA what that meant. I guessed what it mean (I was wrong). I asked my sister. She's smart and she knew, but by the time she responded to my text, I had already googled as well. Google gave me the meaning via urban dictionary: Your favorite combination of characters in a fandom (Any fandom! tv, books, movies, etc...). Immediately, I thought of all my favorite romantic OTP like Alex and Aiden from Jennifer Armentrout's Covenant series to Han and Leia from Star Wars.

But, the more I googled and looked up what One True Pairing meant, I realized it didn't just have to be romantic relationships, but any kind of relationship. Of course, my brain immediately went here:

...because Shawn and Gus from Psych have to be one of my favorite friendships. That got me thinking about bromances! There's something about a good bromance (when two guy characters are such awesome friends) that I love.

So here are some of my favorite bromances:

Obviously... Shawn and Gus from Psych

Brett and Jermaine from Flight of the Concords

Troy and Abed from Community

Spock and Kirk from Star Trek

So, what are some of your favorite bromances? What makes them your favorite? And, does anyone have any good book recommendations that features a bromance? I would love to read a book on one! Give me your recs and your favorite fiction pairing of guy best friends! :)

  1. I immediately thought of Jem and Will from The Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. They're so tight they have their own term for it- parabatai. Lol!

  3. OK, apparently my comment from my phone didn't post this morning. Let's try this again!

Definitely Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices! They are parabatai. Their loyalty and love for one another is making me teary-eyed just typing this out. Other bromances from TV that I enjoy are Nick, Schmidt, and Winston from New Girl, Turk and JD from Scrubs, and Raj and Howard from Big Bang Theory.
